Summary points of “What will happen to PLAB in 2024?”

  • For PLAB 1, all tests sat on or after 8 August 2024 will be based on the MLA content map.
  • For PLAB 2, all tests sat on or after 17 May 2024 will be based on the MLA content map.
  • Candidates will notice very little difference.
  • This transition will not affect candidates’ preparations for, or experience of, taking the test.
  • Criteria unchanged, who are currently eligible to take the test, will continue to be eligible in the future.
  • The standard of the test, and the types of questions and stations currently used, won’t change.
  • Candidates’ experience on the test day will be unchanged.
  • No further changes are expected at this stage.
  • The eligibility criteria, English language requirements, standard of the test, resit policies, experience on the day and validity periods, won’t change during this process.
  • PLAB test will keep its current name for now, plan to modernise the name at a later date.

Anyone knows what’s the difference in plab 2 and MLA study material
As I heard from 17th may 2024
Plab 2 will be converting to MLA

So far from there notices on there website, it’s seems their is no bigger change.

Does anybody know what are the changes in MLA and will it affect us?

Officially they are changing it but my gut says they won’t chnage it too much because already plab passing scores for part 1is arround 70% and arround 50-55% for plab 2 according to GMC yearly statics…so they wont reduce that even below that…apparently they may change a bit topics but not too much than that i think
