Post-Exam Stress

:arrow_left: Homepage

Hello PLAB warriors! :star2:

I get it – the PLAB 2 exam can be a rollercoaster of stress and anxiety. The aftermath often leaves you with that lingering feeling of dissatisfaction, replaying scenarios in your mind. Happy patient? Passed station. Angry patient? Must be a fail, right? It’s a natural instinct, especially for those fresh out of med school.

But guess what? You did it! :tada: Now, as you wait for those results, here’s a friendly reminder: "The consultation outcome, be it positive or negative, does not dictate station success; it reflects the quality of the counseling experience." it’s just a reflection of the challenges you faced. So, breathe a sigh of relief!

Here’s the plan: Forget the stress, enjoy the post-exam bliss! :beach_umbrella: Spend quality time with family and friends, even if it’s on a call. Explore the beauty of the UK, take a spontaneous trip, and keep your mind blissfully distracted. :earth_africa:

After the exam, I personally devoted my attention to gathering souvenirs for my family and friends – items like fridge magnets, tea coasters, games, tea, keychains, cup, etc. These simple yet meaningful tokens will proudly find a place in their homes, :house_with_garden: serving as a reminder that says, ‘This is from England.’

Remember, this is your time to recharge, so embrace it! :rainbow: You’ve earned it, and the journey beyond the exam is just as exciting. :rocket: So, warriors, celebrate the victories and let go of the uncertainties – brighter days await! :star2::muscle:

And remember, I’m here for you every step of the way. :star2::blue_heart:

It’s a very tense period.I really don’t know how candidates do it. Things that I haven’t asked and should have run through my mind continuously. Fear and anxiety. The results shouldn’t take this much time. But I guess this is the norm.

Going to london is good

Definitely, there are tons of places to visit in London. Plus, it takes only 2 hours by train. :steam_locomotive:

I wore a sweater over my dress shirt in exams. I didn’t role up my sleeves… Does that create a huge problem. I don’t know how this slipped my mind :pensive:

I know many friends who wore full sleeves and have passed the exams. Considering it’s winter, it’s understandable to wear full sleeve as one would feel cold. So, I wouldn’t worry about it, instead focus your energy on how you can utilise this time to explore UK!

Thankyou for your reply. I guess the post exam stress is getting to me in different ways.

What you mean by that?

Waiting for the results and trying to find mistakes and errors… that’s why keep on fretting over even the minutest things that happened.

I agree, it’s quite challenging.

You’re following a strict routine leading up to the exam. As the exam comes closer, you become increasingly focused on preparation, attempting to cover as much material as possible. Once the exam is over, you are suddenly left with this unoccupied time and have no idea what to do besides studying.
