PLAB 2 Personal Experience
My friends and I appeared for PLAB 2 exam together recently and by the grace of God we all cleared together as well.
I wanted to give my 2 cents.
We joined Common Stations, and as much as we agree that Dr Hamed is a wonderful teacher, very dedicated, hammers the cases he does in class into your mind but unfortunately he doesn’t focus on management at all.
The mocks that CS provides are repetitive and futile without prescription or simman stations.
You cannot even practice simmans, they don’t allow you to. They only hold sessions with the entire class but that’s not enough. Their study material is outdated and does not have new cases. Their mannekins aren’t the best since you can’t practice catheterisations and other complex procedures.
My sole purpose of writing this is because 598 pounds is a hefty amount, and if you’re paying that much you should have access to all the resources required for your exam.
I’d rather suggest you to take an academy that provides you with good mocks, that are upto date with the curriculum, includes prescrirption and allows you to practice simmans as well such as moshoby and aspire.
Ultimately, it comes down to much you’ve practiced and how calm your nerves are on the exam day. Keep 1,2 study partners and practice with them daily. Make a study plan and stick to it. followed moshoby notes for cases, simmans and examinations. Used Lovaan’s notes for management and for cases that weren’t present in moshoby. I watched aspire videos for examinations and procedures. Please remain confident.
Tell yourself that this is not the end of the world, and these are normal patients. You are a doctor, you know enough and even if you don’t, it will still be alright.
