Recalls refer to the 16 different cases that come in PLAB 2 exam.
2. Why the name “Recalls”?
The term originates from the tradition in which generous PLAB 2 candidates recall and share all 16 cases encountered in their own PLAB 2 exams with their juniors or peers. Unlike conventional written exams, these cannot be labeled as past papers; nevertheless, they essentially serve the same purpose.
3. Significance of Recalls?
Similar to other exams, past papers play a crucial role in the final stages of preparation, allowing candidates to concentrate on high-yield topics. The significance of recalls aligns with this approach. Most cases that come in PLAB 2 exam are repeats.
4. On which days are Recalls not shared?
There’re specific days when PLAB 2 exam doesn’t take place and hence no recalls, they’re:
On weekends (Saturday and Sunday) but sometimes to feel gaps they can take on weekends.
During Christmas period, ie 15th December to 4th January
5. Warnings about Recalls.
GMC has strict guidelines against sharing PLAB 2 recalls. Read a case study here. We believe that’s unfair, so we provide you with this anonymous platform where you can openly share and support your peers.
Be aware that each case scenario has multiple variations. Therefore, don’t memorize cases; instead, focus on understanding concepts.
6. Do we follow only our centre’s Recalls or both?
We recommending following both.
Earlier, Hardmann Square was the sole PLAB 2 exam center. However, with the onset of COVID, increased PLAB 2 candidates, and the imposition of Covid restrictions, they had to establish another exam center named Hardmann Street. This new center primarily featured telephonic stations, resulting in differences between the two exam centers. After the COVID situation, the GMC decided to standardize and make both exam centers uniform. Consequently, Hardmann Street underwent renovations for a few months and reopened on 1st September 2023. Currently, both exam centers adhere to standard practices and present similar cases. Therefore, we advise following both recalls.
When following recalls,do we follow only our centre recalls or follow both irrespective of square and street. Any particular pattern if someone has noticed about how the recalls are presenting themselves.
Thanks in advance
